Cost is $25 in advance, $35 at the door. Free lunch included. Seminar topics include how to publicize events, how to use the Internet to communicate in politics, and how to handle the media. For registration information, go to the following url: http://americanmajority.org/uncategorized/omaha-ne-candidate-campaign-manager-and-grassroots-activist-training. This daylong seminar is invaluable not only for citizens recently getting involved in politics but also for those political veterans who want to update their skills. Please attend & bring friends!
3. The Millard School Board voted to float a $140.8 million bond issue and ask voters to approve it on Nov. 15. The one board member voting NO complained that adding artificial turf practice fields for 2 high schools was irresponsible during the recession. This bond issue includes over $7 million for contingency costs and over $14 million for escalating construction costs. The largest bond issue in the past was $89 million. Current bond outstanding debt is over $178 million! The board placed $30 million of summer projects in the bond issuance after removing this amount from the general fund but did not lower property taxes in its FY 2011-12 budget to account for this transfer. Passage of this bond issue will increase property taxes and especially inflict pain on retirees. Voting FOR the bond issue were Mike Kennedy (Republican), Dave Anderson, Linda Poole, Todd Clarke, and Patrick Ricketts (Republican). NTF almost beat back a Millard Schools bond issue several years ago, and we will fight this monstrosity vehemently. But we need your help! Please volunteer to help us fight this outrageous burden on taxpayers. Email us at
