Ron Paul is the only original Tea Party supporter in the race. Newt Gingrich got on board before 2010's election cycle, but after fighting against the Tea Party in NY-23. Rick Santorum gave speeches against the Tea Party. Mitt Romney has never embraced the Tea Party's points, and actively opposes many of them. Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Perry were all Tea Party supporters from 2009.
Seems when Occupy Omaha realized the crowd coming to see the debate between them and Brad Stevens of Americans for Prosperity was going to be hostile to their cause, Occupy Omaha turned chicken and canceled their place in the debate. This event had been planned for weeks, but only in the last couple of days did KFAB start talking about it, and it was posted here on NebraskaTeaParties.com.
I guess the massive outreach from this website made Occupy Omaha turn tail and run. (Okay, it was KFAB's interest. This site doesn't reach enough people at the moment, unlike theirs.)
Never the less, when the chance presented itself for Occupy Omaha to actually explain itself, they ran from it.
So, since we cannot see Occupy Omaha debate, please enjoy watching Occupy DC in action.
This weekend AFP-Nebraska state director Brad Stevens will be debating a leader from Occupy Omaha, part of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and I hope you will participate by registering here.
America is broke, our government gives billions to special interests and we have lost faith in our institutions. This much both we and Occupy Omaha agree on; where we disagree is the cause and solution.
Yet, nowhere on the Occupy Omaha website or Facebook group is there any repudiation of this type of violence and disrespect for the flag.
The Occupy movement is wrong.
Free markets, limited government and individual freedom are the bedrock principles that have made America the greatest nation in the world – and it is fidelity to these principles that will ensure our future.

Nebraska Voter ID Needed
Written by David West
Thursday, 12 January 2012 10:33
State Senator Charles Janssen has introduced a voter ID bill in the state unicameral. This bill would require a photo ID to vote in elections. Of course, the usual suspects are up in arms about the proposal and 70 of them showed up at the unicameral to protest the bill yesterday.
Nebraska needs this bill.
Though Voter fraud may well be minor in the state of Nebraska, it still exists. Sorry to repudiate the opponents claim, but I worked in the election office putting out results. People attempted to vote provisional more than once, and only the dilligence of the office staff could prevent such a thing. Democrats in particular, but some Republicans too, vote both with an absentee ballot from their household, then show up on election day and vote again. The photo id requirement would be needed, to my understanding, on absentee balloting as well. This is the biggest way Democrats can defraud the system in Nebraska.
Currently in Nebraska, picture ID is used to purchase a multitude of items, including things like Sudafed. These restrictions were approved by the same people who are against issuing of a photo ID for voting.
A photo ID for voting, in this day and age, is long overdue to protect our system from fraud. As has been shown just yesterday by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas, the ability to commit voter fraud is just too easy to perform. Its ridiculous we allow such a thing to continue in this country.
Help support Nebraska State Senator Janssen’s bill. It is the right thing to do.
